Conaway Statement on TPP Agreement
House Agriculture Committee Chairman K. Michael Conaway (R-TX) issued the following statement after negotiators in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) reached an agreement in Atlanta, GA, earlier this morning.
The Committee on Agriculture offers a limited number of internships to undergraduate and graduate students. Interns will have a unique opportunity to be involved in the operations of a congressional committee and the legislative process. The Committee on Agriculture was created on May 3, 1820, and oversees subjects relating to agriculture, forestry, nutrition and finance. The committee is made up of six subcommittees, which are responsible for addressing specific legislative priorities within their scope.
Typical internships are offered from September through December, January through May, and throughout the summer. Interns are responsible for their own housing, but the committee’s intern coordinator can make housing suggestions.
Those interested in applying for a summer internship should submit an application as soon as possible. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.
To apply for an internship with the Committee on Agriculture, please submit an application and current resume to Darryl Blakey via email at or call 202-225-2171 with questions.
Due to heightened security restrictions, packages sent via the U.S. Postal Service, Federal Express, UPS, and other similar carriers may experience significant delays in reaching the committee. Therefore paper applications are not recommended.
