BAGBY, Edward B., a House Chaplain; born in King and Queen County, Virginia, September 29, 1865; graduated from Aberdeen Academy, Richmond, Va.; A.B., Transylvania University, Lexington, Ky., 1887; B.D., Yale University, New Haven, Conn., 1890; ordained in the Christian Church in 1890; minister; elected Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives for the 53rd Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Reverend Samuel W. Haddaway (November 1, 1893–December 2, 1895); died September 2, 1921, in Washington, D.C.
