WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Alex X. Mooney spoke on the floor of the United States House of Representatives Wednesday morning to stress the importance of stronger oversight of the Federal Reserve.
“The Federal Reserve’s monetary policy impacts almost every facet of daily life in America; from grocery prices, to how valuable the money you have in savings is, to the price you pay for home loans," said Rep. Mooney.
Congressman Alex X. Mooney spoke on the House floor in favor of H.R.880, the American Research and Competitiveness Act of 2015. Rep. Mooney cosponsored this legislation which permanently extends and simplifies the calculations for the Research and Development Tax Credit.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Alex X. Mooney applauded the passage of H.R.880, the American Research and Competitiveness Act of 2015, in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 274-145.
Members of West Virginia’s congressional delegation didn’t mince words when responding to President Barack Obama’s budget plans.
The president released his proposed budget Monday, which totals nearly $4 trillion. While the president focused on funding things like transportation and improving the country’s infrastructure, it could mean doing away with across-the-board spending cuts implemented four years ago, as well as new taxes — an idea that didn’t sit well with West Virginia’s elected officials.
