Fiction: No. There is currently no bill before Congress that would require that all handgun owners list their guns on federal income tax returns. Many email forwards have been circulating regarding a Senate bill “SB 2099” and the alleged $50 tax on firearms. This so-called report is false. There is no such legislation currently before Congress as verified on http://thomas.loc.gov the official congressional legislation data base.
