Weekly initiative highlights a local Hoosier or business for notable achievements

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Jackie Walorski (IN-02) today announced this week’s honoree for her ‘Who’s Who in IN-02’ initiative. During a speech on the House floor, Walorski congratulated the North Miami Future Farmers of America (FFA) for raising funds to help fellow student Evan Exmeyer, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

The group raised over $20,000 to purchase and modify a UTV Gator, giving Exmeyer better accessibility on his farm. Exmeyer previously relied on a wheelchair accessible van, which was unable to travel to every part of his family’s land.

I want to thank the North Miami FFA students, teachers and the entire community for their dedication to helping one of their own,” said Walorski. “Because of these hardworking students and generous Hoosiers, Evan has the freedom to explore areas of his family farm that until recently, were off limits. On behalf of the people of the Second Congressional District of Indiana, I thank the North Miami FFA students for serving as role models for the entire Hoosier community.”

Once session resumes in the House in early September, Walorski will continue her weekly initiative.

Walorski represents the 2nd Congressional District in Indiana, where she serves as a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, House Armed Services Committee, and House Committee on Agriculture.
