Defense Abroad
Keeping our country and our democratic allies safe.
The dynamics of international relations changed following the horrifying events of September 11, 2001. The United States must continue to take steps to ensure that such atrocities never happen on our soil again. The men and women of our military and intelligence communities have been working tirelessly to keep Americans safe around the world, help secure our democratic partners and strategic allies in global hotspots, and protect our vital national interests. I am constantly working to support their efforts and ensure that they have access to the tools they need to be effective.
Despite recent successes, the United States faces continued threats of terror, both at home and abroad. We must continue to take steps to secure our country and the world from terror networks, and we must work to prevent acts of terrorism in their early stages, and eradicate the conditions that make such attacks possible.
