Johnson Statement On Selection As Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee

WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said this following his re-election as chairman.

“I appreciate the support of my colleagues in reelecting me Chairman, and I look forward to working with Sen. Claire McCaskill in her role as ranking member of the committee.

“During the last two years as committee chairman, I sought to implement our committee’s mission statement: to enhance the economic and national security of America.  I am committed to pursuing this mission by finding areas of agreement, while identifying, defining and prioritizing problems that put America's safety and security at risk, that stifle economic opportunity, or that result in ineffective and inefficient government.

“I look forward to working with the new administration to achieve our common goal of a safer and more prosperous America."
