McKinley Statement on Shooting in Dallas

Washington, D.C.– Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E., (WV-1) released the following statement after hearing of the horrific shooting in Dallas that has left five officers dead and seven others wounded.

“I am shocked and saddened to hear about last night’s shooting in Dallas. This kind of senseless violence deserves no place in America and all of us should come together to condemn it. We may have many disagreements politically, but we need to unite as one nation and resolve our disputes peacefully and without force. More violence will not make this country stronger; it will only push us apart and make us weaker,” said McKinley.

“This is a time for mourning and not finger pointing. I am hopeful, we as Americans heed warnings to remain calm as we learn more about this terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the people of Dallas at this difficult time,” McKinley said.
