WOWK TV: Former WV Representative Mick Staton passes away

Former U.S. Rep. Mick Staton, R-W.Va., passed away April 15. He was 73 years old.

Staton was a Republican politician born in Parkersburg. He studied at Concord College as well as serving in the West Virginia Army National Guard.

He was also the a former vice president at Kanawha Valley Bank in Charleston.

Staton was elected to the House of Representatives in 1980 where he served a single term from 1981 to 1983.

He was defeated for re-election in 1982 by Bob Wise, who would go on to become the governor.
