Ritchie Online: McKinley hosts roundtable in Harrisville

Representative David McKinley (R-WV 1st Dist.) stopped in Harrisville yesterday for a round table discussion with local officials and invited guests. He wanted to hear what the concerns are on the local level outside of Washington, DC, in order to take that message back with him to his job in the House of Representatives.

McKinley feels a large part of his work is getting other members of Congress to realize the effect of their work, including cuts to programs, on small town and rural America.

He is an engineer, so understands water and sewer projects first hand, having designed many systems while working in his own engineering company. He also understands funding, grants, loans and the fiscal aspect of getting those projects completed.
