Parkersburg News & Sentinel: McKinley has forum at shelter

Funding and affordable housing were two of the concerns raised by local domestic violence victim advocates during a public forum Friday with Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., at the Family Crisis Intervention Center.

"I'm here to listen to what you have to say, talk to me about solutions," the congressman said. McKinley told those at the open forum that he would like "to keep people out of the river instead of trying to spend all our resources trying to pull them out of the water," in his quest for ideas regarding prevention as well as intervention.

"The ideal would be to prevent it from happening in the first place," McKinley said.
