McKinley Brings Washington to Morgantown at Breakfast with a Congressman

MORGANTOWN - Days after the Supreme Court's major decisions in healthcare and marriage equality, a West Virginia congressman was in Morgantown Tuesday, June 30, to share an update on happenings in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., met with elected officials and local leaders at an event sponsored by the Morgantown Chamber of Commerce. He discussed top national and regional issues and encouraged attendees to ask for clarification about these important topics.

“We just try to explain it. I don't think it needs to be a very mysterious place in Washington," said McKinley. "Let's just make sure we break down the barriers and explain what's happening and why.”

McKinley also discussed the current state of North Central West Virginia. He applauded the strong financial infrastructure in Monongalia County, but encouraged more research partnerships to enhance the region's continued development.
