Cumberland Times News: U.S. Rep. McKinley hears concerns of W.Va. farmers

U.S. Rep. David McKinley completed a tour of three farms on Tuesday in eastern West Virginia to highlight the importance of agriculture in the Mountain State and better understand the challenge the agricultural community faces.

“From sun up to sun down our farmers are hard at work to ensure our families can put food on the table,” said McKinley. “They are a key part of our economy and create good jobs. Unfortunately, the government often makes their jobs harder with red tape and excessive regulations.

“As we saw with the Alt farm, the EPA and other agencies impose unnecessary and overbearing rules on their family businesses,” said McKinley. “Today was a great opportunity to listen and learn what we can do to help them in Washington.”
