19th Annual How to Pay for College Seminar

Please join Congressman Elijah E. Cummings for his annual How to Pay for College Seminar on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Coppin State University Physical Education Complex located at 2523 Gwynns Falls Parkway in Baltimore, Maryland.
 
For 19 consecutive years, Congressman Cummings has hosted the seminar to inform constituents in Maryland’s 7th congressional district about educational opportunities and financial assistance programs to enable them to attain a college education. 
 
More than 30 exhibitors will be available to discuss their academic and financial aid programs with attendees from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, including representatives from community and state colleges, public and private universities and scholarship organizations. A Financial Aid Seminar will be held from 6:30PM to 7:30 PM in the Physical Education Complex Indoor Concourse area. The speakers at the seminar are:
 
1. Mr. Fred Stennis-U.S. Department of Education
Topic: Federal financial assistance programs and assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
 
2. Ms. Sharon Hassan - College Goal Maryland
Topic: Resources offered by College Goal Maryland and assistance in completing the FAFSA
 
3. Ms. Benee Edwards - Maryland Higher Education Commission
Topic: Scholarships and grants offered by the state of Maryland
 
4. Ms. Jennifer Bauer - Central Scholarship
Topic: How to find private scholarships
 
5. Mr. Aaron Lemon-Straus - The College Board
Topic: SAT preparation and college application fee waivers
 
6. Mr. Mario Clark - Morgan State University
Topic: The college admissions process and qualities colleges and universities find desirable in applicants
 
7. Ms. Julie Knox-Brown - Howard Community College
Topic: The advantages of beginning a postsecondary education at a community college
