Congressman Farenthold Greets Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen During Visit to U.S.

Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) greeted the President of Taiwan Tsai Ing-wen at the Houston airport during her visit to Houston after winning the presidency. Congressman Farenthold will accompany President Tsai Ing-wen as she visits various locations throughout Houston today. The visit will include a dinner with dignitaries, members of the Houston business community and the Chinese American community in Texas.

“It was a pleasure to meet the new President of Taiwan,” said Congressman Farenthold. "I look forward to continuing good relations between our countries and continuing to grow our economies and creating jobs."

Formosa Plastics in Point Comfort, Texas, and Nan Ya Plastics in Wharton, Texas, reside in the district Congressman Farenthold represents. They are some of the largest Taiwanese-owned manufacturing plants in the United States.
