Consumer Protection

Navigating the American marketplace can be an overwhelming experience, and Minnesotans should feel confident that all of the products they buy, from laundry detergent to a home mortgage, meet acceptable standards of quality and safety. While variation among products is essential to foster competition, unsafe products have no business in our shopping carts. Minnesotans can only make the best decisions for their families if they have access to clear, complete information—products should not be marketed in a manner that is intentionally confusing or misleading. I support legislation that allows consumers to make fully informed choices and encourages regulators to limit misleading or dangerous products.
