Thune Welcomes Passage of Significant Cybersecurity Bill

“…the Senate was able to work on a bipartisan basis to help Americans who simply want to keep their information safe”

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today released the following statement after the Senate passed the bipartisan Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA):

“Multiple committees, including the Commerce Committee which I chair, have held hearings on the cybersecurity risks and challenges that accompany an increasingly connected world. The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act will help address these risks and boost cybersecurity by increasing the voluntary sharing of cyber threat information between and within the private and public sectors. The Republican-led Senate is committed to delivering real results, and I’m pleased the Senate was able to work on a bipartisan basis to help Americans who simply want to keep their information safe.”
