Minnesota has a strong, proud tradition of being a national leader in responsible environmental stewardship and clean energy development. As we face challenges of bolstering our local economies, increasing our nation's energy independence, tackling global climate change, and reducing stress on our planet's natural resources and systems, it is important that we take an integrated approach to our nation's environmental and energy policy. As Congress considers these important issues, I will continue to ensure that national policies position Minnesota to reap the benefits of a clean energy economy and promote responsible stewardship of our land, air, and water for generations to come.
