Rep. McKinley Receives Arthritis Foundation Leadership Award

Washington, D.C.—Yesterday, Rep. David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-WV) received the Arthritis Foundation Leadership Award at the Arthritis Advocacy Foundation Summit. Rep. McKinley is the co-chair of the National Arthritis Caucus.

“It’s an honor to receive this award from the Arthritis Foundation because we share the same passion for helping people,” said Rep. McKinley. “Since introducing the Patients Access to Treatment Act, we have had numerous people tell us their personal stories about the physical and financial challenges they face dealing with life-changing medical conditions.”

Rep. McKinley is the lead Republican sponsor of this legislation (H.R. 460) which will help millions of people with arthritis and other diseases have access to critical treatments that can save their lives or significantly improve their quality of life.

“The current system unfairly discriminates against patients with debilitating diseases,” added McKinley. “This should not be a Democrat or a Republican issue. This is about fairness and compassion for American families.”
