McKinley Stands for Jobs, Not Regulations

Washington, DC– Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E., (WV-1) released the following statement on the disappointing March jobs report:

“At every opportunity, I ask West Virginians about the economy and how their families are doing. Today’s jobs report reflects their concerns.

“We shouldn’t be proud of breaking some records. Today we learned a record number of 93 million Americans are not working, including 12.2 million African-Americans and 56.1 million women who have dropped out of the labor force. It is obvious the President’s economic policies are not working.

“While certain areas of the country may be doing better, rural Americans are still struggling to find work. The President continues to ignore reality and issue more regulations that hold back economic growth and job creation. American families recognize regulations don’t create jobs and they deserve the peace of mind of a brighter economic future.”
