McKinley Meets with WV Federal and State Leaders

Washington, D.C. – Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E., (WV-1) organized a meeting of Republican leaders today in Charleston to discuss continued coordination between state and federally elected officials in the year ahead. Yesterday, the West Virginia Congressional Delegation met with a bipartisan group of leaders from both the House of Delegates and State Senate.

“It is extremely important that our state and federal leaders build a bridge that will allow us to work together and achieve our common coals.  Together we must focus on bringing jobs back to West Virginia, replacing Obamacare with a high quality and affordable alternative, greenlighting long overdue infrastructure projects, and combating the dangers of drug abuse and addiction,” said McKinley.

“The people of West Virginia have demanded a change from the suffering they have felt for the past eight years. We now have an opportunity to unleash the potential of our state. Only a lack of an imagination can hold us back. Today’s meeting was a great start and I look forward to working with this team of leaders throughout 2017 and beyond,” McKinley said.

Elected officials participating in today’s meeting with Congressman McKinley included: Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Congressman Evan Jenkins, Congressman Alex Mooney, Speaker Tim Armstead, Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, Senate Majority Leader, Senate President-Elect Mitch Carmichael, State Auditor-Elect J.B. McCuskey, Commissioner of Agriculture-Elect Kent Leonhardt, Secretary of State-Elect Mac Warner.
