McKinley Announces New Funds for Local Medical Centers

Washington, D.C.– Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E., (WV-1) announced that seven different local medical centers throughout the First Congressional District will receive grants from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“It’s very important that people in small towns and rural communities have access to quality health care. These grants will make that possible by strengthening health centers throughout our district and providing necessary resources that will help deliver medical services to those who need them,” said McKinley.

Monongahela Valley Association of Health Centers (Fairmont) - $52,963

Preston-Taylor Community Health Center, Inc. (Grafton) – $50,196

Ritchie County Primary Care Association, Inc (Harrisville) - $49,835

St. George Medical Clinic, Inc (St. George) - $43,415

Background

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded these grants. The goal of the HRSA and its programs is toprovide health care to people who are geographically isolated, economically or medically vulnerable.
