President Barack Obama recently set a new course by opening relations with Cuba. The changes will allow more travel for Americans to Cuba and allow Americans to bring back more goods from their visit. Cuban-Americans also will be able to send more money back to relatives. In addition, businesses will be able to have easier financing for trade. While full diplomatic relations are not restored, these changes will make it easier for Georgians to conduct business in the Cuban marketplace. Georgia bu... Read more

Plain and simple — the farm bill should not be used as an avenue to increase dairy prices and distort the dairy market. As the House prepares to consider the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act — also known as the farm bill — a new dairy supply management program included in the legislation threatens to push dairy prices higher. The farm bill being brought to the House floor contains a program called the Dairy Market Stabilization Program (DSMP) that will manipulate and control th... Read more

For several decades, Georgia was living up to its unofficial motto a... Read more

It is often unknown that Title IV of the United States Code contains an entire set of laws governing the usage and display of the United States flag. Collectively known as the U.S. Flag Code, these laws encourage us to fly the flag every day, but especially on a number of significant federal, religious and cultural holidays. For many years, this list of occasions has included Flag Day, which we will celebrate on June 14, Veterans Day, President's Day, Columbus Day and even Mother's Day. Over the... Read more
