WASHINGTON, D.C.  – U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp announced three federal grants totaling over $4.5 million to support community health care centers in Northwood, Turtle Lake, and Fargo that serve those who most need affordable health care services.

“Quality, affordable, and accessible health care is essential to every North Dakotan,” said Heitkamp. “These federal funds will support community health care clinics throughout North Dakota so they are able to provide the affordable primary health care services North Dakotans need to stay healthy.”

The following federal funds are distributed as follows:

• Northland Health Partners Community Health Center, Turtle Lake: $1,681,827
• Valley Community Health Center, Northwood: $1,531,763
• Family HealthCare Center, Fargo: $1,377,969

These federal funds are authorized through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration to provide affordable primary care options for disadvantaged populations.
