In the wake of a recent decision saddling American taxpayers with more than $30 million in legal fees to military contractor KBR, Congressman Kurt Schrader released the following statement renewing his call for justice for the Oregon Guardsmen sickened by KBR’s actions exposing them to toxic chemicals at a site in Iraq.

“This is an outrageous decision by the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, reflecting a badly broken defense contracting system. Our Oregon guardsmen deserve justice from our courts against KBR. This decision, much like the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision to overturn the judgement our guardsmen received against KBR in the District of Oregon, only serves to further delay righting the wrongs inflicted by KBR on our citizen soldiers over a decade ago.”
