Yesterday the Chairman of the House Budget Committee introduced the “Federal Employee Rights Act,” which, contrary to its title, would prohibit federal agencies from deducting voluntary union dues from their employees’ paychecks. There is finally some good news for federal employees in the omnibus spending bill passed by Congress this morning. The $1.1 trillion spending package included a pay raise for federal employees and our service members, as well as significant additional funding for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), some of which is earmarked for cybersecurity.
