SENATE DEMOCRATS HOST A ROUNDTABLE ON RACIAL INEQUALITY

Senator Coons (D-DE), Chair of Business Outreach; Senator Franken (D-MN); Senator Booker (D-NJ), Chair of Metropolitan Area Outreach

Washington, DC Senate Democrats met with civil rights leaders to talk about economic disparities in communities of color.

Senate Democrats have worked to address racial inequality by advocating policies that create pathways to opportunity for all Americans.  The Affordable Care Act is reducing the number of uninsured people of color.  Democratic investments in early childhood education, workforce training, and affordable housing and transportation, as well as economic policies like raising the minimum wage and paid leave, can boost the earning potential of families of color and ensure the benefits of a growing economy reach the most underserved communities.
