WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman delivered remarks today at the Surface Navy Association’s (SNA) 29th Annual National Symposium. The theme of this year’s Symposium was “Distributed Lethality-Enabling Sea Control.” Established in 1985, SNA’s mission is to promote greater coordination and communication among those in the military, business, and academic communities who support and have interest in Naval Surface Warfare. Congressman released this statement following his remarks:

“Speaking to the attendees of the SNA National Symposium today was an honor. The event brings together uniformed members of our Navy and Coast Guard with the industry tasked to provide them with the tools they need to be successful at sea. In my remarks, I emphasized the importance of a greater integration of the Navy and the Marine Corps, increasing our Fleet to 355 ships, and making sure our industry partners are up to this challenge. All of these factors are absolutely critical to bringing the capability of our Navy closer to meeting the reality of the threats facing the United States daily, specifically by China, Russia, and Iran.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
