Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 2, the American Energy Solutions for Lower Costs and More American Jobs Act, and H.R. 4, the Jobs for America Act.

“More American energy means more American jobs. We all know that is true. That is why the House is acting once again to pass a package of common sense solutions that will help pave the way for American energy independence. This legislation is part of our ongoing effort to create jobs and make energy more affordable for hard-working American families. The commonsense proposals included in this package of bills will help spur economic growth and create good paying jobs right here at home through real solutions like building the Keystone Pipeline and speeding up exports of U.S. liquefied gas to our global allies.

“The Jobs for America Act isn't a lasting government program created to hand out federal jobs and false promises. H.R. 4 proposes positive solutions to help grow a healthy economy, create good-paying jobs, and help make the American Dream something within every household's grasp. By reducing unnecessary rules and regulations on small businesses, fostering growth in our digital economy, and repealing the 30-hour definition of full-time employment given to America's workers through Obamacare, the House is getting America back to work.”
