U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement after passage of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act:

“Our nation’s water infrastructure is vital to the 3rd District which is home to more than 150 miles of the Missouri River and nearly 100 miles of the Mississippi River.” Luetkemeyer said. “The reforms in this bill will ensure that these important resources continue to be drivers of our district’s economy. I am also pleased that we were able to include an authorization to develop a comprehensive strategy to combat flooding on the Upper Mississippi River. We can’t afford to stand by without a plan as our region continues to experience devastating floods. Developing a comprehensive plan that protects all communities will help save lives and prevent billions of dollars in damages.”
