Senator Collins met with Jon in her Washington, D.C., office.

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) today introduced bipartisan legislation to crack down on fraud targeted at seniors. Schemes targeting seniors include fraudulent investment plans, prizes, and sweepstakes, internet fraud, charity scams, predatory home lenders, telemarketing and mail fraud, accessing assets through undue influence, using fraudulent legal documents, and Ponzi schemes.

Senator Collins Introduces Amendment Providing Additional Time to Develop Obamacare Replacement that Would Protect Americans from Losing Health Insurance

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), Bob Corker (R-TN), Rob Portman (R-OH), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) today introduced an amendment to extend the deadline for budget reconciliation instructions from January 27, 2017, to March 3, 2017. The additional time would allow Congress and the Administration to develop a serious replacement to Obamacare that would protect Americans from losing their health insurance coverage and avoid turmoil in the insurance industry.

Collins, King Announce $200,000 EPA Grant for Eastern Maine Development Corporation in Bucksport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded the Eastern Maine Development Corporation $200,000 to support a development and implementation strategy in Bucksport for the former Verso Paper Mill project area. The funding is awarded through the Brownfield Area-Wide Planning program which aims to engage communities to help clean-up old sites for economic development initiatives.
