"Washington’s bureaucrats just don’t get it."

U.S. Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE), a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, issued the following statement after voting for an amendment that would prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from implementing its destructive Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule. Sasse cosponsored the amendment that was introduced by U.S. Senator John Hoeven (R-ND).

“Washington’s bureaucrats just don’t get it. Nobody cares or knows more about protecting Nebraska’s water than Nebraskans. The world’s most productive farmers and ranchers know that WOTUS is terrible policy and, together, we’ll continue the fight against this absurd government overreach."

Background:

The amendment to the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act was rejected on a vote of 56–42.
