Obama Plan Impedes Energy Development

U.S. Representative Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding the Department of Interior’s flawed five-year offshore drilling plan:

“President Obama has once again impeded energy development opportunities by appeasing the unreasonable demands of radical special interest groups.  By closing off exploration to taxpayer-owned Arctic and Atlantic waters, he is continuing to prevent America from continuing its progress toward energy security and increased economic opportunity.  Fortunately, a new administration will be taking over in January to reverse the current administration’s low-growth, diminished-opportunity, anti-energy agenda. The House will work with the incoming Trump administration to put forth a 21st century energy strategy that harnesses America’s abundant energy resources, lowers energy costs, improves economic opportunity, lowers emissions and reduces geopolitical instability around the world.”

Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur, former energy executive, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC)  and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

One of my top priorities of the 115th Congress is to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a 21st century health care system that lowers costs and expands access to quality care.
