What is the 21st Century Cures Act?

The 21st Century Cures Act will change the way we treat and fight diseases like Alzheimer’s, cancer, diabetes and the thousands of diseases with no known cures.

Cures aims to give more Americans access to life-saving treatments by empowering researchers, innovators, scientists and doctors to discover, develop and deliver new and effective treatments and therapies. It expedites the approval processes for medications and medical devices by removing outdated practices and replacing them with streamlined measures to allow safe and effective treatments to be delivered to patients more quickly. It will also improve care across the country by providing regulatory relief hospitals, outpatient centers, long-term care facilities and cancer centers need to better treat patients in their communities.
