My office always accepts resumes from college students interested in interning for academic credit. Opportunities exist in my Washington, D.C., and Grandville offices, during both the summer and school year.
By interning in my office, students have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of life in a congressional office. Interns will be able to learn about the legislative process, constituent services, and community outreach by working closely with me and members of my staff. My internship program is open to all district college students, regardless of major.
Application Procedure: Click here for the Internship application. Please submit your completed application, resume, and a brief 250-word essay describing your interest in a congressional internship, including what you expect to learn from your experience via email to either Carly at Carly.Nelson@mail.house.gov if you are looking to intern in Grandville or to Ben at Ben.Ridder@mail.house.gov if you are seeking an internship in my Washington, D.C. Office. You may also fax your submission to 202-226-0779.
For any additional questions, please contact Ben in my D.C. Office at (202) 225-4401 or Carly in my Grandville Office at (616) 570-0917.
