Washington, DC – Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, released the following statement in recognition of the 46th Earth Day on April 22nd, which coincides with the signing ceremony for the Paris climate agreement. 

Senator Boxer said, “Every Earth Day, we are thankful for those people who wrote our landmark environmental laws, and we recommit ourselves to protecting them.  This year’s Earth Day celebration – the 46th -- is especially meaningful, because world leaders are gathering at UN headquarters to sign the historic Paris climate agreement.
