Rep. Young Commends State for Standing Up to EPA
Washington D.C.,
July 13, 2012
Alaskan Congressman Don Young released the following statement today praising the State of Alaska for its rejection of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) extension of the North American Emission Control Area (ECA) into the southeastern and southern coasts of Alaska:
“The extension of the emission control area into Alaska is just another example of the EPA’s nonstop attack on Alaska and its economy. The EPA’s decision-making process in this case clearly makes no sense and I commend Governor Parnell for standing up to this out-of-touch federal agency. Alaska’s sovereignty is at stake everyday and this sort of bold approach is exactly what is needed in order to defend it.”
