The Senate will convene at 12:00 Noon. Following any Leader Remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S. Con. Res. 3 (Budget Resolution). There will be six hours of debate remaining on the Budget Resolution.

The Senate will convene at 12:00 noon.  Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S. Con. Res. 3 (Budget Resolution).  The Senate will recess from 12:30 to 2:15 PM for the weekly party lunches. At 2:30 PM, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on Flake amend #52 (Social Security, Medicare) followed by a roll call vote on Sanders amend #19 (To prevent the Senate from breaking Donald Trump’s promise that “there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicade”).

S. Con. Res. 3 (Budget Resolution).

Flake amend #52 (Social Security, Medicare).  Point of Order raised that the amendment violates the Congressional Budget Act.  Motion to Waive the Budget Act.  Yeas and nays ordered. The Motion to Waive the Budget Act was not agreed to by a vote of 31-67.

Sanders amend #19 (To prevent the Senate from breaking Donald Trump’s promise that “there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicade”). Point of Order raised that the amendment violates the Congressional Budget Act.  Motion to Waive the Budget Act.  Yeas and nays ordered. The Motion to Waive the Budget Act was not agreed to by a vote of 49-49.

The Senate will convene at 2:00 PM.  Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S. Con. Res. 3 (Budget Resolution).  At 5:30 PM, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the Paul amendment.

Paul amend #1 (In the Nature of a Substitute). Yeas and Nays ordered.  The amendment was not agreed to by a vote of 14–83.

Hirono amend #20 (To protect the Meidcare and Medicade programs). Enzi Point of Order that the amendment violates the Congressional Budget Act. Hirono Motion to Waive the Budget Point of Order. Yeas and Nays ordered.  The Motion to Waive was not agreed to by a vote of 49– 47. The Point of Order is sustained and the amendment fails.

The Senate will convene at 12:45 PM and will stand in recess to proceed as a body to the Hall of the House of Representatives for the counting of the electoral ballots.  Upon the dissolution of the Joint Session, the Senate will adjourn until 2:00 PM on Monday, January 9th.  Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S. Con. Res. 3 (Budget Resolution).  At 5:30 PM, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the Paul amendment.

The Senate stands in recess to proceed as a body to the Hall of the House of Representatives under the provisions of S. Con. Res. 2 for the counting of electoral ballots.

Kaine amend #8 (To prohibit legislation that makes America sick again).  Enzi Point of Order that the amendment violates the Congressional Budget Act.  Kaine Motion to Waive the Budget Point of Order.  Yeas and nays ordered.  The Motion to Waive was not agreed to by a vote of 48-52.  The Point of Order is sustained and the amendment falls.
