Should American citizens receive a fair trial before being stripped of their Second Amendment rights?

This week Democrats in the House of Representatives demanded a vote on legislation that would allow the Attorney General to prevent any American from purchasing a firearm that is determined to have engaged in terrorist activities. This determination would be solely at the discretion of a politically appointed Attorney General instead of taking place after a criminal conviction by an independent court. Supporters say this will keep guns out of the hands of terrorists, while opponents say this strips Americans of their constitutional rights without due process.
