Caucus and Organization Membership
Congressional Caucuses are formed by Members to provide a forum for issues or legislative agendas. A number of caucuses exist in the House and their primary function is to draw attention to issues of importance to their membership. Below you can find more information on my caucus membership and links to available caucus websites. 

Caucus Membership

Congressional Portuguese American Caucus; Co-Chair
The Caucus works together in a bipartisan fashion, to raise awareness of the contributions Portuguese Americans have made and of the importance of strong bilateral ties between the two nations. 
Native American Caucus
The Caucus is a bipartisan coalition of legislators working to improve relationships between the federal government and all sovereign tribal nations.  For 15 years, the Caucus has worked to protect tribal sovereignty, meet federal trust obligations, and improve the lives of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.  
Sportsmen Caucus
The bipartisan Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC) has grown into one of the largest caucuses in the US Congress. The Caucus focuses on educating Members of Congress on issues affect sportsmen and protecting the interest of the community. 
Small Business Caucus
This bipartisan Caucus is committed to open dialogue on the issues that most impact small businesses.  Members of the Congressional Small Business Caucus are dedicated to advancing efforts to foster the economic certainty needed for small businesses and entrepreneurs to succeed and create jobs.
Dairy Caucus
The Congressional Dairy Farmers Caucus is a bipartisan body that works to best represent those involved with dairy production, including producers and consumers.
Sikh American Caucus; Co-Founder
The Sikh American Caucus works to educate Members of Congress and the general public about issues affecting Sikh Americans including bullying, discrimination, and hate crimes. They provide a voice in Washington for Sikhs and offer their support to the Sikh American community.
U.S. - Mexico Friendship Caucus; Co-Chair 
The Congressional Mexico Friendship Caucus works to strengthen the relationship between the United States and Mexico while educating others on issues such as immigration and trade agreements between the two nations. 
Brazil Caucus
The Brazil Caucus aims to foster an understanding of, and enhance, the United States' relationship with Brazil, while protecting and maintaining the free market system, and to increase trade and investment between both countries. 


Organization Membership

Congressional Hispanic Conference
The Congressional Hispanic Conference seeks to emphasize both national and international issues that have a significant impact on the Hispanic community in the United States. The members believe Hispanics play a vital role in our democracy and must be actively engaged in all issues facing our nation.
No Label Problem Solvers Coalition 
Founded in January 2013, the Problem Solver Coalition is made up of a group of House and Senate Members who have agreed to meet regularly to build trust across the aisle. The Problem Solvers are committed to regular across-the-aisle meetings, embracing a new attitude of problem solving and being real leaders pursuing what is best for the American people. 

Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute
CHLI is dedicated to fostering a broad awareness of the diversity of thought, heritage, interests, and views of Americans of Hispanic and Portuguese descent. CHLI programs strengthen the U.S. Hispanic community by promoting the advancement of Hispanics in all sectors of the U.S. and global economy.
