“We have some great news for members of the military and their families. This week the House passed the National Defense Authorization Act. This bill gives our troops their biggest pay raise in six years…a pay raise they earn every day when they put on their uniforms to defend our freedoms. The NDAA also includes prioritized funding to close the readiness gap, streamline the acquisition process, and take tough action to combat sexual assault.
“The last few years have not been easy for our military—our military is smaller under President Obama and our equipment is aging. In the House, we have been focused on fixing that, and this year’s NDAA makes important reforms to fix some of those problems, while ensuring that the men and women who defend our freedoms will have the tools they need to carry out their mission.
“I want to personally thank all of those who serve our country. God bless our troops, and God bless America.”
