Obtaining Government Documents

More and more federal documents are now available on the Internet either directly from the federal agencies themselves, or through the Library of Congress' THOMAS Web Site. If you can't find what you need online, however, you should be able to obtain it through one of the following resources.

House of Representatives

The House Document Room provides many Congressional documents free of charge, including copies of bills and resolutions. To obtain materials, call (202) 226-5200. In addition you may find documents of interest on the Office of the Clerk website.

Government Printing Office

The Government Printing Office provides government documents and many non-Congressional materials including laws, reports from most federal agencies and departments, and copies of the Congressional Record. Fees apply on every order. To obtain materials, call (202) 512-1800.
