Hudson Announces Limited Number of Tickets Available for Presidential Inauguration
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement announcing that his office will distribute a limited number of free tickets for the 58th Presidential Inauguration:
“I’m excited to announce that my office will be given a limited number of free tickets to distribute for the presidential inauguration on January 20, 2017. I encourage those who are interested in participating in this incredible American tradition to visit my website at Hudson.House.Gov and submit a request. We will make every effort to distribute the tickets made available on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.”
On Friday, January 20, 2017, President-elect Donald Trump will take the Oath of Office and deliver the Inaugural Address at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. Rep. Hudson’s office will receive a limited number of free tickets that grant access to view this historic event on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. The tickets are standing-room only and will be outdoors. Those interested in tickets should submit a formal request at https://hudson.house.gov/inauguration-requests. The deadline to submit ticket requests is Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
Because of the limited number of tickets available, Rep. Hudson’s office cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled. Rep. Hudson’s office will make every effort to distribute the tickets made available to constituents on a "first-come, first-served" basis. We will begin notifying people who receive the tickets on December 7, 2016. Tickets will need to be picked up in Rep. Hudson’s Washington, D.C., office on January 19, 2017.
Tickets are not necessary to view the inauguration ceremony; the tickets simply allow access to specific sections of the Capitol Grounds. There will be large sections of the National Mall accessible to the general public; typically jumbo viewing screens are set up throughout the National Mall.
