Congressional Art Competition

12th Congressional District High School Art Competition

Artistic Discovery, the annual Congressional Art Competition, is sponsored by participating Members of Congress around the nation.

Each year, I host the local competition, which brings together the best and brightest student artists from around the Twelfth Congressional District, and each year I am honored to see art from the 12th district hanging in the Capitol. Thank you to all of the talented high school students who participated this year, and congratulations to the winners.

The first place winner, Amanda Ba, from Olentangy Orange High School, will have her work displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside Congressional Art Competition winners from across the country. Amanda will also have the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to see her artwork in the Capitol. The second, third, and “people’s choice” winners will have their art displayed in Congressman Tiberi’s Central Ohio office.

Congratulations to the 2016 winners:

•1st Place: Amanda Ba, Olentangy Orange High School, “The Bell”

•2nd Place: Juliette Amorati, Bishop Hartley High School, “Lunch Time”

•3rd Place: Jonah Robinson, Rutherford B. Hayes High School “Isolation”

•People's Choice (based on Facebook likes): Zach Shah, Olentangy Liberty High School “Agony”

The Competition is open to high school students in the 12th Congressional District. Please contact Pamela Hedrick, (614) 523-2555 or 1-855-PAT-OH12 (728-6412) for details about entry requirements for next year's competition, or if you have questions.
