Today we pause to express our appreciation and admiration for the men and women who make up our law enforcement. In every corner of our nation, including the U.S. Capitol, we are blessed to have so many individuals who have been called to serve solely for the safety of others. http://go.usa.gov/x9ndE ‪#‎LawEnforcementAppreciationDay‬

It is such a privilege to serve as an official teller during today’s counting of the electoral votes for the President and Vice President of the United States. We live in a magnificent country where a peaceful transition of power occurs after every presidential election. http://go.usa.gov/x9Zvh

I welcome my new colleagues, Rep. Adrian Smith and Congressman Barry Loudermilk, as well as my returning colleagues, Rep. Rodney Davis, Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, and Representative Mark Walker, as we serve on the Committee on House Administration.

This panel is charged with overseeing the operations of the House, and ensuring each Member has the tools they need to effectively communicate with their constituents. My colleagues and their contributions will be extremely important as we conduct needed oversight, act as a resource for all of the new and returning Members, and provide training and education to Member and Committee offices. Together, we will help ensure the House runs efficiently throughout the 115th Congress.

A big thank you to Celeste for her hard work this semester! Celeste and her work aide Emily were wonderful members of our staff these past few months. Celeste always came into the office with a great attitude and was eager to tackle assigned tasks. Thank you Celeste!

Established by Rep. Gregg Harper in 2010, the Congressional Internship Program for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities is a unique program designed to give students with varying intellectual disabilities an opportunity to gain congressional work experience.
