  • Looking Ahead to 2017

As we prepare for a new Congress, I'm looking forward to making progress on the people's priorities, including repealing and replacing Obamacare, continuing to address the heroin and opioid epidemic, reforming our outdated tax system, getting rid of burdensome regulations, helping people get out of poverty, and returning to our Constitutional principals. I talked about some of these priorities with RTV6 in Indianapolis.
  • 21st Century Cures Signed into Law

Many of us have watched a friend or loved one struggle with cancer, only to be told that there was little hope of a cure. 21st Century Cures provides patients and families with hope for a future and ensures that the United States will stay on the cutting edge of medical innovation. In addition, it reforms our mental health care system, provides resources to address heroin and opioid abuse, and strengthens our national biodefense.
  • U.S. Rep. Susan Brooks helps celebrate West Clay Elementary becoming a Blue Ribbon school

Carmel’s West Clay Elementary recently earned the distinction of National Blue Ribbon School for 2016, the first time it has earned the honor. It was one of only 329 schools to earn the honor, and I was on hand to help celebrate.
  • “It’s incumbent upon us to shake it up and get results.”

With the 114th Congress coming to a close, U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (WV) and U.S. Rep. Susan Brooks (IN-5) appeared before a breakfast meeting of The Ripon Society yesterday morning to talk about the November 8th election and how the results will shape the agenda of the 115th Congress in 2017.
  • Rep. Brooks Named House Ethics Chairwoman

The House Committee on Ethics has an important role to play in holding members, officers and staff accountable. As Chairwoman, I am committed to holding our members to a high standard of conduct; to conducting fair investigations into allegations and questions brought before the Committee; and to effectively and transparently communicating the Congressional ethics rules and standards.
