Washington, DC -- Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA-14), Ranking Member on the House Armed Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, earlier this week requested a hearing into the issue of military hazing based on recent reports of incidents at Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Rep. Speier’s request follows her amendment to the FY2017 National Defense Authorization Act, which would help identify and combat hazing in all of the military branches.
