“In 2013, the government shutdown not only cost our economy $24 billion, but it directly impacted Maine businesses, such as hotels and tourism industries. For example, Acadia National Park’s visitation was reduced by 76% in October of 2013 – causing a 13% reduction in tourism-related sales.
