Congressman Tom Cole

Representing the 4th District of Oklahoma

Art Competition

Congratulations to Katie Prior, whose charcoal drawing “Firefighter Ray” was declared winner of the 2016 Congressional Art Contest

Please stay tuned for details regarding the 2017 Congressional Art Competition.

Each spring, I am delighted to invite high school students from my district to participate in this annual competition sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. If you’re a high school student looking for an opportunity to show off your creativity, this is your chance to represent our district and receive national recognition. Entries for this year's competition are due on April 22, 2016.

Started in 1982, An Artistic Discovery allows lawmakers to encourage and recognize the artistic talent of their young constituents. Since then, more than 650,000 students have participated in the nationwide competition.

Open to all high school students living in the Fourth District of Oklahoma, the winning prize includes display of the artwork for one year in the U.S. Capitol and travel for the winner and a guest to Washington, D.C. for a reception, workshop and award presentation (courtesy of Southwest Airlines).

If you would like to enter this year’s competition, please download and carefully review the forms below. All entries must be original in concept, design and execution.

For more information or to ask questions about the competition, please contact my Norman office at 405-329-6500.
