District Map & CA-37 Overview

California’s 37th District encompasses many neighborhoods in the City of Los Angeles, including South Los Angeles, Crenshaw, Baldwin Hills, Miracle Mile, Pico-Robertson, Century City, Cheviot Hills, West Los Angeles, and Mar Vista. The 37th Congressional District also encompasses Culver City as well as the unincorporated communities of View Park and Ladera Heights.

Home to two Summer Olympics, the 37th District is filled with important and notable historical landmarks, museums, and cultural attractions that all add to Los Angeles County and the nation’s heritage and pride.

The District is home to two major film and TV production lots and employs thousands of people in the film industry. The Crenshaw community is known as the birthplace of West Coast hip-hop music, and includes Leimert Park Village, the arts hub of the African American community.

The 37th Congressional District also includes world-class museums, including the California Science Center, home to the Space Shuttle Endeavor, The L.A. County Natural History Museum, and the California African American Museum.  Institutions of higher learning include the University of Southern California, as well as L.A. Trade Technical College and West Los Angeles College are also treasures of the District – which each serve tens of thousands of area students.

Proud of its ethnic and economic diversity, the population of the 37th Congressional District is approximately 39% Latino, 25% Black, 25% White, and 8% Asian.

With over 700,000 residents, the 37th District continues to be a diverse, vibrant, family-orientated urban community. Congressmember Bass takes great honor in serving the members of the 37th District.
